Tonight's mail had a nice surprise: the 954rr GP shift lever I bought on ebay last weekend!!

It took me about 15 minutes to pull my stock shift linkage and put the 954rr lever (aftermarket for GP shifting) on and now I'm setup for GP shifting.
This shift lever is about 3/4" forward of the stock position so I've raised it up a bit to help with reach and to improve ground clearance.

I'll post up my observations and preferences later since I've only ridden around the neighborhood with it so far. I am hoping for a smoother shift on the track while gaining speed on corner exits. Its also pretty cool.

I'll post pictures next week since my wife has the camera with her at the moment. Perhaps a camera phone shot if I get bored though.

  2. Looks like we are all going to learn this one together. I can see all of us sitting at a light and when it changes we all kill it cause we hit the wrong gear. :slap:

  3. I know Pesticide runs a GP shift pattern on his bike and likes it. All I have to do on mine is flip the linkage, but I'll stick with the regular for now.

  4. Same on the SV, just flip it, or accidentally down shift at 10k while hard on the gas ::)
