Banks To Lowman Is Ready To Ride

Discussion in 'Rides' started by XLR8, Sep 10, 2006.

  1. I was up there today on the GSX-R.

    Boise --> Emmet-->Horshoebend-->Smiths Ferry-->Banks-->Lowman-->Idaho City

    There's still a few patches here and there but you can rail along pretty good.

    Here's the surprise. Last week from Idaho City to Lowman the road was clean. Today there are giant rocks all over the road for the last 3 miles or so going down into Lowman. They got rain up there and it must have loosened stuff up on the hillsides.

    Thanks for the heads up on our local road conditions. I'm tentatively planning to hit Lowman next Saturday and really appreciate the advanced warning regarding the rocks.

  3. I would have been more social and posted up a group ride invite but I didn't know I was going until this morning when I decided I wanted a breakfast burrito from Sonic in Emmett. OK, that's not the real reason but you get the idea.

  4. Thanks for the update! Hoz likes the Idaho City side to Lowman, and I like the Garden Valley side to Lowman. You pretty much covered it all there. Thanks!
  5. If you guys do a ride next Sunday post up before hand if you can.

    Ahh jeez, I need to get some new rubber though. Hmmm, I'm gonna call Big Twin for some M3s in the morning. Heli bars will have to wait til spring because I''m buying a new digital SLR.

    My avatar looks like ass. It's all I had time for and it's really a silver gixxer like Durka's.

    The M3's rock! I still prefer the initial turn in of the Pilot Powers a bit more but honestly don't have a complaint about the M3's. I've done two track days and some VERY agressive street riding along with commuting and they are holding up fantastic. They stick like glue too.
    I can't give a mileage assesment yet but I can definately tell you they are holding up better than a set of Dunflops.
    Its too bad that Dunlop makes such a great race tire and such a disapointing street tire.

  7. Excellent!

    They have pretty good prices over at Big Twinn and they treat me right so far but they don't have PPs. So I'm going to get the M3s or maybe even the Z6s. I like the Z6s a lot and they work great for my pace but everyone is saying they get good mileage from the M3 and they are only a little more so I figure I'll try them.
