I know some people (myself included) are planning to ride down to Utah for the AMA races on June 16-18 so lets get a list of people who plan to make the ride.
Tickets were supposed to go on sale April 1st but I checked the site today and there's still no place to buy them or even details on how much they cost. I'm saving up some vacation time at work to make the trip and my thoughts so far are:

AMA events are Friday the 16th to Sunday the 18th. Its likely that Friday will just be a practice day for them, Saturday will be qualifying, and Sunday will be the actual races. If this is the case, I'd like to ride down on Friday and then watch qualifying and the actual races. If there are races on Friday, I'll probably ride down Thursday afternoon.
I'm currently planning to ride back on Monday morning because I expect we wouldn't get out early enough on Sunday for a good, safe ride. I don't mind riding in the dark a bit, I just don't want to be riding in the dark on a potentially windy road after I've been awake most of the weekend watching races and hanging out with everyone.
When an actual schedule of events is published, I'll nail down my plans though.

    Anyone have thoughts?

Tickets are available right now through www.ticketmaster.com. A weekednd pass is $60 for general admission or $80 for grandstand access.
I'm riding down with three others on Friday morning and planning on riding back Sunday night to avoid taking Monday off from work. Anyone is more than welcome to ride down with us but you'll have to find your own place to sleep as our place is full. It should be a great weekend.

That will actually work out perfectly!! Depending on what time we take off on Friday, I won't even have to take an actual day off work. I can get started early that day to avoid burning vacation.

I'm thinking about staying with my brother-in-law in SLC so the accomodation setup works well for me too.

  4. I might go down on sunday early. Still working out what to do.

I do want to see the track

We bought tickets today! :neener: We decided to get tickets to the Grandstand B since it faces three twisties so we figured we'd see more action that way.

  6. I would like to go have to wait and see Im sure dane will go if I do

    Dude, you gotta go!!

Tickets are gonna be gone (for the decent seats at least) quickly.

I'll call Dane tomorrow and see if he's down. I'm looking to drop $80 for the weekend pass with grandstand access. The weekend pass is actually good for the practice on Thursday and the races on Fri, Sat, Sun.
Even if we only see the Sat / Sun stuff, the weekend pass is still worth it because a grandstand pass for 1 day is $50.

    DONE!!! :dblthumb:

AlxandrtheGr8, Gr8Dane and myself now have weekend passes for Grandstand B!!

Bigity, how many are in your group? I'd like to get an idea how many people will be in the pack for the ride down. And if anyone will have a fuzz buster. :police:

There are 4 of us (myself, '05 R6, '03 R6 and a Buell) and with you, Dane and Gr8 that's 8. Nobody has a fuzz buster tho. :banghead:

    Dude, your math is lacking.

4 of you plus myself, Dane and Gr8 makes 7.

On another note, idgsxr1k called me tonight and he's gonna join my crew!! He and I got online and got him a ticket. We now have Grandstand B, Row 1, Seats 24 and 26-28.

I have a fuzz buster for my truck but no way to hook it up to my bike. I'll look into adding a 12volt outlet before we ride down (I've got the stuff to do it) and see if I can get a mount rigged up. Noticing it will be the hard part. I'd almost need to take the LED pack out of the unit and extend the wires to reach my helmet. I could then clip the LEDs inside my helmet where I could see them peripherally.

Funny thing is that I was laying in bed last night and it dawned on me that it was actually 7 and not 8. Good thing I'm not a math teacher.

  12. I had a buddy hard wire his fuz buster in

    Woohoo!! The tickets are here!

Gr8Dane and AlxandrtheGr8 will need to get tank bags or backpacks of some sort for the trip but we won't need to take much down anyway so it shouldn't be a hastle.

Just leave room in your bags to bring new stuff home. Who doesn't need a Superbike wife-beater tank top?

I don't own one wife beater. Though a t-shirt would be acceptable. I've got a backup plan if it looks like I'll have too much crap to take along... I'll ship it to my in-laws and pick it up down there :dblthumb:

:eek:fftopic: wrong thread but were you near Lucky Peak today Hoz? Pestilence and I ran up through there on our bikes after work and thought we saw you.

Nope, I didn't get to go anywhere, actually.

There's a guy just down the road from me that has a red/black F4i and it may have been him. His bike is odd though, it says "F4 Sport" on the sides which means its a Euro spec bike or he bought fairings/decals from a Euro spec..

If you guys wanna head to lucky peak right after work tonight, I'd love to go. I'm on call at work this week so my range is limited.

Here's a layout of MMP so that people can figure out where the stands are things like that:

  19. So what time are you guys going to Utah? I have yet to set a time, not exactly firm on who all is going from Mtn. Home yet. ???
